If I believe that God cares about my life, do I share all areas of my life with God?

We may want to quickly answer yes. We do pray and talk to God about what we need. But if we pause for a moment to reflect about all the areas of our daily life, is there a part of our life that we are currently withholding?

For example, do we not share with God when others have pointed out a weakness in us? Do we keep this hidden so we do not have to look at changing our behavior or our ways of relating with others?

Do we not share with God that this week we ignored someone who needed us to listen to them? Or to help them? There may be many situations in our life that we have not shared fully with God. We may be worried that God would be angry or disappointed with us if we did share. When we feel these moments where we want to hide our thoughts and feelings from God, the Bible reminds us that we have a kind and loving God who wants us to share our daily lives.

Here are just a few examples from Scripture:

Psalm 145:8-9 “The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and of great kindness. The Lord is good to all and compassionate toward all his works.”

Psalm 138:3 “On the day I called, you answered me. You made me bold with strength in my soul.”

Psalm 34:5 “I sought the Lord, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.”

What loving support from God! We never have to fear sharing all our thoughts, feelings, and daily activities. Try sharing something this week that you have kept hidden from God.
